Atlanta in Motion uses a subtle MARTA reference as a visual metaphor for Atlanta itself: diverse, energetic, and always moving forward. Through the train’s windows, viewers catch glimpses of different people, personalities, and cultural references that reflect the city’s identity and everyday moments that make the city feel alive.
At a major crossroads like Five Points MARTA Station and Peachtree Street, the design reads as a bold visual welcome to Atlanta. From a distance, it holds as one vibrant image; up close, the individual scenes begin to reveal themselves. The mural also creates a natural dialogue with the graffiti below, balancing its raw energy with a cleaner, more graphic composition. The train imagery speaks to movement and connection. Atlanta continues to grow, expand, and thrive because of all the wonderful people and communities who shape the city.
