“A Relationship of Truth”

When you love something, you are often faced with a decision that is not the easiest to decide or define. Sometimes on that journey of choice, we stray away from what we truly need, or even from our dreams. It’s about the distraction, the chase, the comfort, the pain, and the life and death of love. This piece is about choice—choosing your own path and destiny and being decisive about what you want; utilizing all of our teachings; being honest about what you want.
Emmanual Rivas—AKA Nomadic Manny—is an Afro-Latino artist based in Atlanta. He uses both painting and digital art to create works that broadcast his “inner” to leave viewers with a sense of self-realization or reflection. Through repetition and figurative surrealism, his work consists of memories, reflections, convictions, truths, lies, love, hate, emotions, and everything in-between, serving as a rite of passage for his own personal processing.
“I’ve been in a place in my life where I haven’t really known what I’ve wanted for a long time. This piece helped me figure out what I want. Most of it is already in me.”
